The nine competing for the European crown and five in the Americas make the Catalans the most represented club at the two competitions combined

FC Barcelona have more players than any other club in the world appearing at the two major international competitions taking place this summer: the European Champìonship in France and the Copa America Centenario in the United States. With nine in the former and five in the latter, the Catalans top Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham, who have 13 each, and also Juventus (12), Bayern, Liverpool and PSG (11) and Real Madrid (10).

The nine that will be battling to take the European crown will be five for the defending champions Spain (Iniesta, Sergio, Piqué, Jordi Alba and Bartra), and one each for Germany (Ter Stegen), Croatia (Rakitic), Turkey (Arda Turan) and Belgium (Vermaelen).

The five that will be at the Copa America that’s being contested between June 3 and 27 are Messi and Mascherano (Argentina), Dani Alves (Brazil), Bravo (Chile) and Suárez (Uruguay).

There was due to be one more, but Rafinha has been forced to drop out of the Brazilian squad with a muscle injury. Neymar Jr will not be in Dunga’s Copa America squad either, as he is competing at the Olympic Games in Rio instead.
