The manager fields questions from the press ahead of Sunday’s cup final with a double on the line for both sides

Shortly after Andres Iniesta fielded questions from the media, Luis Enrique did the same. The manager spoke about the threat that Copa del Rey opponents Sevilla pose as well as the state of his own side going into the match.

On the back of winning their third Europa League, the Andalusians enter the game in high spirits, something which Luis Enrique alluded to, but also stressed the enthusiasm that his side has with a domestic double at stake.

The magic of the cup

“A Copa final is one of the most attractive matches that one can play in,  and in the last weeks we have been working very well.”

Sevilla’s style

“Sevilla have played well against us and press very well, they beat us at their ground with more fortune than normal, and is a team that always poses problems,” before adding that “Unai Emery is one of the best managers in European football”.

Motivation is high

“The end of seasons, when you are fighting for titles, are easy as the players are motivated”

Cup specialists

“Sevilla are specialists in finals and especially in coming from behind. This ensures that the match will be attractive until the end, and that we must be prepared to overcome all difficulties.”

“There will come a time when we will not win, and then our success will be valued”
