FC Barcelona are not resting on their laurels. Despite holding a 2 to 0 lead over arsenal, Barça know the London-based side will visit Camp Nou and try to turn the tables. The players know this and they want to avoid any surprises. The Barça goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who has played every minute in the UEFA Champions League this season, spoke to the media on Tuesday.

“It will be a very difficult game. The result in the first leg is very good, but it doesn’t mean we are in the quarter-finals yet. Against Arsenal we want to win and we have to win.”

Speaking about Arsenal, the German goalkeeper said “they are capable of coming back from two goals down because they are one of the best teams in Europe. We have to play with no fear.”

“There is always pressure, but I want to play every game. If I play football, I am not interested in anything else,” he said.

Words of praise for Messi

Ter Stegen also spoke about the skills of his teammates and the importance of playing with players as good as Barça’s. “It’s easy to play with everyone,” he said, citing Gerard Piqué and Javier Mascherano as examples. They are centre-backs who give us, the goalkeepers, another option and they make it much easier to play the ball.”

But the goalkeeper saved his biggest praise for Leo Messi. “He is always very dangerous for any goalkeeper,” Ter Stegen said. “He is incredible because he can shoot from wherever he wants and how he wants. When he has the ball he can’t be stopped. Everyone here knows that Messi is the best player in the world. He does things that nobody else can.”
