Amb el hat-trick contra el Celta, l’uruguaià ja suma 23 gols a la Lliga en 22 partits, és Pitxitxi i s’apropa a només un d’Higuaín, actual líder de la Bota d’Or europea

  • Luis Suárez’s hat-trick on Sunday means he’s even further ahead in the Liga goalscoring charts. He’s now scored 23 times in 22 games, two and four more than Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, respectively, both of Real Madrid. Neymar Jr is fourth in the list with 17 goals and Messi is eighth with 13.

  • The Uruguayan has 39 goals in total this season. This was his fourth hat-trick, after he also found the net three times against Eibar (3-1), Guangzhou Evergrande (3-0) and Athletic Bilbao (6-0), while he got four in the cup first leg against Valencia (7-0).

  • Suárez has scored an amazing 12 goals in his last five outings at the Camp Nou. Before the hat-trick against Celta, he got four against Valencia, one against Atlético, another against Athletic in the cup and three against the same team in La Liga.

  • On Sunday against Celta, Suárez also provided the assists for Neymar Jr and Ivan Rakitic and hit the post when it was still 1-1.

  • Suárez is just one goal shy of European Golden Shoe leader Gonzalo Higuaín of Napoli, who has 24 goals from one game more. A goal at Gijón on Wednesday would get the two players level.

  • In eighteen games in which the full ‘trident’ has been deployed this season, this was the third time that all three have scored. The trio also netted against Real Sociedad (4-0) and Athletic Bilbao (6-0). Oddly enough, in another six-goal performance on Sunday, the goalscoring was identical to that against the Basques (Suárez (3), Messi, Neymar Jr and Rakitic).
