Barça coach recognises importance of victory over ‘one of the best teams to come to Camp Nou this season’
Another day at the office for Luis Enrique and another victory, which stretches his team’s unbeaten run to a record-equalling 34 matches. However, the Barça boss was the first to admit that the win against Sevilla at Camp Nou was far from routine. “I am very happy with the result, you have to be able to suffer in these games and we were up against one of the best teams in the league and in Europe,” he said.
“Unai Emery’s Sevilla are a side who work very hard and have players who can make a difference,” added the Asturian before describing the visitors as “one of the best teams to have come to Camp Nou this season.”
Aware of the advantage his side enjoy in the league table, Luis Enrique admitted “knowing how important the points were, I am delighted with how we competed.”
We have Atlético Madrid relatively close. We have wanted to retain the league title since day one, it is a priority. Now the final stage of the season is coming and we are in an unbeatable position.”
Finally, the former Barça player made it clear that it is the squad that is important. “Here there are no starters and no substitutes, there are those who play more than others, but my players are all key,” revealed Luis Enrique.
