The FC Barcelona manager appreciates that his cup semi-final opponents are a very different side under Gary Neville, but seems confident of a good result at the Camp Nou

The hectic schedule at FC Barcelona continues on Wednesday night with the Copa del Rey semi-final against Valencia. “This is an attractive and important match” said manager Luis Enrique in his pre-game press conference “Valencia will create difficulties. They are a team that dares to generate pressure and they have some fine individuals. This wasn’t an easy draw for either for us. But we’re hoping to play well and set things up nicely for the second leg.”

Here are some other quotes from pressroom on Tuesday:

The semi-final

“We always like to win the first leg and not think about the second. That’s the best way to tackle games like these”.

“You can already see what Neville has done with Valencia. They are great at getting the ball into the area, and they have some quality players to move the ball up the field. The manager has made changes and we’ll have to deal with them”.

“After everything this club has done in recent years, it’s only logical that they’re saying we’re the favourites. But we have to prove that we’re better on the pitch.”

“More than setting one record or the other, what we have to aim for is trophies. This long unbeaten streak will help us to do that, but it’s no guarantee of anything.”

“We are the defending champions of most competitions we play in, so what we have to do is go out and defend those titles.”

Team form

“We are developing physically. We’re performing well. Things are going more than well for us. We are ready to compete in what will not be easy conditions going into the final stage of the season.”

“The team is feeling positive. Good morale is always important, although it’s sometimes hard to achieve. We need to analyse how each player is feeling as we go into every game. That’s an essential part of the job. As coach it is one of my responsibilities.”
