FC Barcelona will play in the Copa del Rey Final for the 38th time in Club history after going undefeated in eight games this season while leading the tournament in goals scored

We take a look at the most interesting stats surrounding Barça’s success so far at this year’s tournament

After knocking out Valencia on Wednesday night and, in doing so, setting a new record with their 29th straight game without a loss, FC Barcelona have made it to the Final, again, where they will face the winner of the other semi-final between Sevilla and Celta. Here’s a look at the numbers:

Luis Enrique has used a total of 27 players, including 5 players from Barça B

After knocking out Villanovense (6-1), Espanyol (6-1), Athletic Club (5-2) and Valencia (8-1), the May 21 Final — Barça’s 6th in 8 seasons — will be their chance to win it for the 28th time, the tournament record.

Eight different players have scored for Barça this season in the Copa del Rey: Messi (5), Luis Suárez (5), Munir (5), Neymar Jr. (3), Sandro (3), Piqué (2), Alves (1) and Kaptoum (1).

There is a 5-way tie at the top of the tournament’s scoring list, with Messi, Suárez and Munir tied with Álvaro Negredo (Valencia) and John Guidetti (Celta) with, curiously, 5 goals each.

FC Barcelona have outscored their opponents 25–6, best in the tournament. Sevilla are second with 20 goals for with a game to play.

The Cup is kind to Luis Enrique, who is undefeated as Barça coach, not just this season, but last season as well. In total he has guided FCB to 15 wins and 2 draws (9 wins in 9 tries last season and s wins and 2 draws so far this season).

Twenty-seven different players have seen minutes in the 8 clashes played so far. The only first team players who have not played in the Copa del Rey this season are goalkeeper Claudio Bravo — FCB’s regular in La Liga — and the injured Rafinha.

Of the 27 players who have seen action, 5 are Barça B youngsters: Sergi Samper, Gerard Gumbau, Wilfrid Kaptoum, Juan Cámara and Aitor Cantalapiedra.
