And the clock continues to run. The morning after FC Barcelona’s 3–1 victory at Sporting de Gijón in a rare, mid-week La Liga clash — it had been postponed from December — head coach Luis Enrique Martínez had his men back out on the training pitch to begin laying the groundwork for Saturday’s 4.00pm league match at Las Palmas, in the Canary Islands.

Thursday’s workout on Tito Vilanova Field at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper was divided into two areas — the previous night’s starting XI did light exercise to aid in their recovery from the taxing match at El Molinón, while the remainder of the squad went through a normal session.

Barça will train again on Friday afternoon before flying to Las Palmas, on the island of Gran Canaria.
