The FC Barcelona expedition arrives in Zurich

Those travelling to represent the Club at the 2015 FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala arrived in the Swiss city after a short flight from Barcelona

The FC Barcelona expedition, which departed from Barcelona-El Prat Airport just before 1.00pm on Monday, has arrived in Zurich Switzerland, where later in the afternoon they are to attend the 105 FIFA Gala.

On the flight, Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu was accompanied by the team’s two Ballon d’Or finalists, Leo Messi and Neymar Jr; and Andrés Iniesta and Dani Alves, who have been nominated for the Team of the Year. All four players trained in the morning before heading to the airport.

Also travelling to Zurich were FC Barcelona Vice President, Jordi Mestre; the Football Director, Javier Bordas; the Professionals Sports Director, Albert Soler; the First Team Technical Secretary, Robert Fernández; and ex-player and Ballon d’Or winner Hristo Stoichkov.

The flight landed at Zurich Airport at 2:20pm. Once there, those travelling with the FCB expedition were welcomed  by FIFA before going to their hotel.

Messi and Neymar Jr are set to appear at a press conference in the afternoon, while the remaining Barça officials will begin making their way to the Kongresshaus Zürich around 5.00pm, about an hour and a half before the 2015 FIFA Gala is set to begin.
