Simply put, Barça B are in good form. The FC Barcelona reserve squad have their first winning streak of the season after beating Espanyol B by a score of 1–0 on Saturday night at the Mini Estadi.
Juan Cámara’s goal in the 57th minute was all they needed to vanquish their cross town rivals. Nonetheless, Barça B dominated throughout the match, both in controlling the flow of the game and in claiming the lion’s share of possession.
Barça B could have taken the lead in the first half, but had to wait until the second to break through.
After the break the Catalans played even better, putting on an absolute clinic while ratcheting up the pressure and imposing their style of play.
Cámara’s goal came in the 57th minute after brilliantly settling a spectacular pass from Perea and finishing with aplomb to put Barça B up 1–0.
The goal was Cámara’s fourth of the season.
Two minutes after the goal, Espanyol kissed goodbye any chance they had at a comeback when they went down to ten men after Antonio Cristian was shown his second yellow card of the game for a foul on Perea.
FCB’s second consective win gives them three very valuable points as they look to continue furthering themselves from the relegation zone
