FC Barcelona ever-present in FIFA/FIFPro World XI

The 10 players who have represented FC Barcelona in the FIFA FIFPro World XI
Since the establishment of the prize in 2005, at least two Barça players have been part of the best eleven of the year

This year saw four FC Barcelona players selected in the FIFA/FIFPro World XI, and the Catalan club enjoys the unique feat of having at least two representatives in each side since its inauguration in 2005.

Messi leads the way

Unsurprisingly, the recently crowned Ballon d’Or Leo Messi leads the way when it comes to being selected for the best team of the year, with nine appearances in the eleven editions.

Another frequently seen name on the team sheet is Andres Iniesta, who has been in each side since 2009. Xavi has been present in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 while Dani Alves has taken to the stage in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015.

Gerard Piqué (2010, 2011 and 2012) and Carles Puyol (2007, 2008 and 2010) have also been honoured as part of the best eleven of the year. In the earlier editions, past greats Ronaldinho (2005, 2006 and 2007) and Samuel Eto’o (2005 and 2006) represented the club. David Villa (2010) and Neymar (2015) have been chose on one occasion each, with the latter expected to add plenty more to his collection in the future.
