Barça B took all three points from their trip to Valencia. The 3-0 win came about with goals from Kaptoum, Dongou and Aitor Cantalapiedra.

Gerard López’s side leapt into the lead with two goals in a minute around the first quarter of hour mark. Kaptoum got the first with a low drive from the edge of the area, his first of the season, and just seconds later Dongou left-footed home after a great one-two with Maxi.

Barça were off to a flying start, but hungered for more, and were rewarded for such ambition after 25 minutes when Aitor Cantalapiedra won the ball deep in the opposition’s half and cheekily lobbed the home keeper. It was the perfect way to cap a great week in which he also made his Camp Nou debut against Villanovense. The remainder of the half saw yet more pressure from the visitors, but no further scoring.

It was Barça B’s defence that got the chance to shine in the second half. With Gumbau sent off for a direct red card, they played the last half hour with just ten men, but managed to hold on admirably.

With six minutes on the clock, Rai became the second player to get his marching orders, meaning the game was now ten against ten. And so it ended, 3-0 to the reserves, and their first win in five games leaves them with 17 points from 16 games.

The win also pulls Barça B momentarily out of the relegation zone, with some of the teams below them yet to play this weekend. Attention now turns to a home fixture against Huracán at the Miniestadi.
