Javier Mascherano played in his 250th game with FC Barcelona in Saturday’s 1-1 draw in the league against Valencia at the Mestalla. The 250 appearances include: 150 in La Liga, 54 in the Champions League, 34 in the Copa del Rey, 8 in the Spanish Super Cup, 2 in the UEFA Super Cup and 2 in the Club World Cup.
The Argentinian, who arrived from Liverpool in the 2010/11 season, quickly became a regular for Barça. He has played both in the midfield and on defence, and has become known as a reliable utility man who can be called upon in various positions whenever needed.
With Barça, Mascherano has won eleven titles including two Champions Leagues, three La Ligas, one Club World Cup, one Copa del Rey, two Spanish Super Cups and two European Super Cups.
