The Barça coach far from disappointed as his side’s eight game winning streak comes to an end
‘We put in a complete performance at a very tough ground,’ says Asturian boss
If the Barça coach was unhappy at his side’s first failure to win in nine matches following the 1-1 draw in Mestalla against Valencia, then he certainly hid it well in the post-game press on Saturday. “I have no complaints about the team, we put in a complete performance at a very tough ground,” said the boss. Generous in his appraisal of the exciting encounter, Luis Enrique found time to compliment his opponents: “They [Valencia] were very good in defence and they made the most of the great piece of play by Alcácer and the great finish from Mina.”
Below more comments from the Barça coach’s press conference:
The draw
“We had the better chances, but we were not able to finish them off.”
“We did not have too many problems with them on the counter, our football brought us reward for all the effort we put in.”
“We have quality players and they know just how difficult it is to score goals. We tried to close it out but we could not do it. In one counter they scored, I think we could have won but then that is the beauty of football.”
