The Club World Cup was the team’s 20th continental or world title, a record only matched by Al-Ahly of Egypt
2015 will be remembered as the year when Barça once again won five trophies. December’s Club World Cup capped an extraordinary twelve months with the 20th world or continental trophy in club history, a record that ties the Catalans with Al-Ahly of Egypt as the most internationally decorated club on the planet.
Barça now have five Champions League, three Club World Cups, four Cup Winners’ Cups, five European Super Cups and three Fairs Cups (which UEFA does not officially recognise as official titles as only certain cities were invited to enter, but Barça does recognise them).
Outright European leader
The Super Cup win in Georgia confirmed Barça as the most internationally successful team in Europe by moving one trophy ahead of both Real Madrid and AC Milan with eighteen. The difference has now been stretched to two!
