The striker — who led Barça with a double and assisted Suárez on his goal — appears to be improving with each game that passes
FC Barcelona won 3-0 over BATE Borisov in game 4 of the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night, and the star of the evening was none other than Neymar, author of the team’s first and third goals.
“We have to be very calm. We are doing a great job and that is important,” he told reporters after the game.
Neymar also acknowledged that he is in a very good form. “Last season was the best in my life, but now I am in a great moment,” he said.
Neymar’s second goal was assisted by Luis Suárez, who afterwards was thanked by the Brazilian. “I had a good run up the middle, but half the goal is Suárez’s.”
Here are statements from other players who spoke to the media after the game:
Andrés Iniesta
“Mission accomplished. We knew they would cede control and we took advantage.”
“We’re in a comfortable position. We hope to close out our qualification in our next match.”
“The injury Rakitic is unfortunate; hopefully it’s as slight as possible. I don’t know the extent of the injury.”

Dani Alves
“We have taken an important step towards qualification.”
“We have no explanation for the injuries. We have a lot of physical wear a tear and that’s why they happen. But we are not the only ones who suffer them, other teams do too. We are human and it happens.”
“Neymar and Luis Suárez have a very good connection. This is great news for us that we can enjoy them.”
“We’re not setting a date for Messi’s return. He doesn’t have to push it. He’ll be back when he’s well.”
