The Barça strtiker is set to surpass the scoring marks of two of the Club’s all-time greats

Suárez has 36 goals in 58 games across all competitions since arriving

Despite having been with FC Barcelona for little more than a year thus far, Luis Suárez is set to enter the annals of Club history as one of their top scorers. The striker has scored a total of 36 goals in 58 games in all competitions, an average of 0.62 goals per game.

The two players just ahead of Suarez are legends Diego Maradona and Romário, both of whom played two seasons for Barça.

Maradona left Boca Juniors in his native Argentina to sign with the Catalans in the 1982/83 season. He then scored 38 goals in 58 games (0.65/game) while donning the blaugrana shirt.

Romário signed with Barça in 1993/94, the year after the Club’s first Champions League title, and scored 39 goals in 66 games (0.59/game). Thirty-seven of Romário’s goals came in the 52 La Liga games he disputed in his two years at Barça.

This Wednesday against BATE Borisov at Camp Nou, Suárez can draw closer, or maybe even surpass them. And it would not be surprising either, given Suárez’s good start to the season. In 12 games in La Liga and the Champions League, the Uruguayan has scored 10 goals, for him a record pace.
