With 12 players away for national team duties, Tuesday’s training session has lower-than-normal attendance

New league leaders FC Barcelona returned to work on Tuesday for a training session without a dozen players called up for international duty — Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Marc Bartra, Javier Mascherano, Claudio Bravo, Neymar Jr., Dani Alves, Thomas Vermaelen and Munir El Haddadi. Also missing was goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who is having dental work done.

The rest of the first-team players available trained on Field 2 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The team will train again on Wednesday morning to continue preparing for the next league match — El Clásico against Real Madrid. The big game kicks off on Saturday, 21 November at 6.15pm.
