Argentina and Brazil seek wins while Bravo’s Chile look to stay undefeated

FC Barcelona’s international players face one final commitment before returning to Barcelona to prepare for El Clásico, set for Saturday 21 November at 6:15pm CET against Real Madrid.

European friendlies

Spain’s friendly Belgium scheduled for Tuesday was suspended late on Monday for security reasons. After the attacks of Paris, the authorities decided to cancel the event preventively. This means that Barça’s Spain players Gerard Piqué, Marc Bartra, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Andrés Iniesta, as well as Belgium’s Thomas Vermaelen, will be returning to Barcelona. They are expected to arrive in the coming hours.

Nevertheless, Arda Turan and Turkey play a friendly versus Greece in Istanbul.

Meanwhile, Munir El Haddadi, the only European player from Barça’s first team to play a qualifying match, will be with the Spanish U-21 team as they try to add another victory, this time against group leaders Croatia, on their way to the European championships.

Argentina, Brazil and Chile in World Cup qualifying

Elsewhere, South American qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup continue as Javier Mascherano and Argentina will seek their first win when they face Colombia on Tuesday. Argentina have just two draws through three games in qualifying.

On Wednesday, the other two South American teams play. Brazil and Neymar Jr. face Peru with the aim of picking up the three points after drawing against Argentina. Finally, Chile and Claudio Bravo face Uruguay and look to retake the lead in their group.
