Clásico goalscorers in the current FC Barcelona squad

Messi, Piqué and Jordi Alba have all scored against Real Madrid / MIGUEL RUIZ - FCB
No fewer than nine members of the first team already know what it feels like to put the ball in the back of the Real Madrid net

Rakitic and Turan too

Two other members of the Barça midfield have scored against Real Madrid for other clubs. The Croatian converted a penalty while wearing the Sevilla shirt, and the Turkish international grabbed the winner for Atlético Madrid in an impressive 2-1 win at the Bernabéu last season.

There are nine players in the current FC Barcelona squad that have scored at least once for the team against Real Madrid.

Surprisingly, five of those are defenders, namely Piqué, Alves, Alba, Bartra and Mathieu, while the only midfielder to have found the target against the club’s most famous rival is Andrés Iniesta, who will be out to do it for the third time on Saturday in his 32nd appearance in a Clásico.

There are no prizes for guessing who the leading scorer in the current squad is. In fact, he’s the leading scorer in the entire history of the fixture, and for either side, after topping Di Stefano’s tally in the 2013/14 season is. It’s Leo Messi of course, with 21 goals to his name in all competitions. His attacking colleagues Neymar and Suárez both scored against Real Madrid in their first seasons for the club, but the Brazilian has the edge on the Uruguayan with two goals so far … and hopefully many more to come!
