The FC Barcelona midfielder thinks that the Belarusians could ‘make life difficult for us’ and believes that ‘the team only thinks about winning’
Sergio Busquets was given the job of speaking to the press the day before the game between BATE Borisov and FC Barcelona, the blaugranes third game in Group E in this season’s Champions League group stages. The midfielder cast his eye over Wednesday’s rivals and reflected upon Neymar’s stellar performance against Rayo Vallecano last Saturday in the league.
BATE Borisov
“We respect all our rivals. In the Champions League any game away from home can be tricky. In theory they are not a team you see getting through but that does not mean they cannot makes things tricky for you. We respect them, we are ready and we are only thinking about winning.”
The absence of Leo Messi
“In terms of making a difference it is true that the team misses him. For me he is the best player in the world. We all have to give a little bit more with him missing so we notice it less. When a team has players like that missing then it is normal that you feel it.”
Neymar in form
“For everything that he brings to us, he is a key player for the team, more so in the absence of Messi. Let’s hope he continues his form.”
The game against Rayo
“In the second half against Rayo they had more of the ball because they had to take more risks. That allowed us to have more chances on the break and score more goals.”
