The Brazilian talks about one of the keys to his two first-half goals, which both came from the penalty spot

Neymar was the star of the 5–2 victory over Rayo, scoring four goals for the first time since he joined FC Barcelona. He also assisted Luis Suárez on Barça’s fifth. Neymar’s first two goals came on penalty kicks that he himself drew.

“I’ve been working on my penalty kicks. I have to thank Masip, Ter Stegen and Bravo.”

About the game, Neymar said, “It’s very tough to play against Rayo, they have quality players, they’re a great team.”

Here are the highlights of what some of the other players had to say following the game:

Sergi Roberto:

“Rayo Vallecano always fight hard for possession. We knew that if they covered us man to man, we’d have some space, and we took advantage of it.”

“In the second half we turned the ball over too quickly. But the most important thing is the three points.”

“It always feels good to win, it’s important to score five against a good Rayo. They played their game, but after their first goal we didn’t change our plan. We deserved it.”

“You’ve got to congratulate Paco Jémez, it was an evenly matched game, very intense.”

“I hope that Neymar never stops. Hopefully we’ll keep getting him the ball, you’ve got to congratulate him.”

“We have to recuperate well, we’ve played a lot of games, which means we’re doing things well. We’ll make an effort to prepare for Tuesday, and if we’re a bit sore we kind of have to grin and bear it. That’s the way it is.”
