The Barça head coach lauds Neymar and his forward line, but says team must keep working on defence
Luis Enrique spoke to reporters after FC Barcelona’s 5–2 rout over Rayo Vallecano, repeating, as he often has, that he’s “never had a comfortable game against Paco Jémez. They’re always tough.”
Although Jémez’s team won the battle for possession, it was the scoring chances that mattered.
“I’m not worried about losing possession to teams like Bayern, Celta, or Rayo Vallecano,” Luis Enrique explained.
While clearly happy with the win, the coach was not as happy with his team’s performance in the second half, “despite being more efficient.”
“We’re going to keep working on our defence. To win titles, you have to score more goals and give up less and that’s what we’re working on.”
On Neymar:
“Impressive, unstoppable, electric, almost impossible to stop without committing penalties.”
On the rest of the front line:
“Suárez, Sandro and Munir are also doing good things.”
On the next game:
“Now it’s time to think about the Champions League.”
