Munir is the fifth 18 year old player to score on his league debut for Barça

Luis Enrique carries on the Barça tradition of winning on his debut as coach

One of the stars of the Barça win over Elche in La Liga was Munir El Haddadi. The 18-year-old made his first team league debut and scored a goal, something that only four players had previously done for the club at his age: Badenes, Milla, Velamazán and Jofre.

At only 18 years and 357 days, Munir became the youngest player to score on the first day of the season for Barca. The Madrid-born striker is also the third youngest Barça player to score in La Liga, behind Bojan and Messi

Here are some other stats from the Barça v Elche match:

  • Barça is the team that has got off to the most winning starts in La Liga (53).
