Ahead of Wednesday’s game against Celtic, Busquets insists: “the sooner we get a goal, the better, because they can close down at the back and make it hard for us”

Sergio Busquets doesn’t trust Celtic and although the Scottish Champions have no chance to no qualify for the next round of the Champions League, the Catalan midfielder is clear that Celtic: “want to put in a good performance”. Barça scraped through against Neil Lennon’s side last year thanks to a late, late Jordi Alba goal, but Busquets warned the Scots: “we’ve learnt our lesson from last year, They have their style of playing, which is very different from ours. The sooner we get a goal, the better, because they can close down at the back and make it hard for us”.

A draw would be enough to get Barça through to the next round as group winners, but Busquets is clear that the team will be out for a win: “it’s important that we play well and get the win”.[[CITA_1]]

Busquets also spoke about Barça’s own style of play: “changing it is out of the question with the players we have”, whilst explaining that comparisons with past seasons is “difficult . it’s impossible for many reasons”. Responding to criticism of the team of late, he insisted: “we have no doubts about our style of play, our teammates or the boss. We know what we have to do and  it’s too soon to judge us and how we will finish the season. We just hope to be in with a shout in all the competitions in the next few months and we will be fighting to win everything”.

Busquets was also asked how he felt about missing out on some of the individual awards which have been announced lately: “your teammates know most about the game and they are the ones who value you. I’m very happy with how I am seen here and that’s all that really counts”. Finally, Busquets dismissed any talk of new contract talks: “I’ve only just signed a new deal. I’m fine here, this is where I want to be”.
