LFP awards for Leo Messi and Andrés Iniesta

Messi was named player of the season and best forward, whilst Iniesta won the best attacking midfielder award.

At the event held in Madrid, Iniesta was accompanied by Club President Sandro Rosell, board members Manel Arroyo and Toni Freixa, director general Antoni Rossich and sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta.

Deulofeu, second division player of the year

Gerard Deulofeu, currently on loan to Everton, also won an award tonight, taking the second division player of the year award.

The Liga de Futbol Professional (LFP) handed out their awards for the best players of the 2012-13 season this evening and once again, FC Barcelona were at the heart of things, carrying off three prizes. Leo Messi, who was unable to attend as he is in Argentina recovering from his injury, won both the Player of the Year and Best Forward awards and sent a video message of thanks.

Andrés Iniesta the team’s other winner – carrying off the best attacking midfielder award  – was present at the ceremony accompanied by Club President Sandro Rosell, board members Manel Arroyo and Toni Freixa, director general Antoni Rossich and sporting director  Andoni Zubizarreta.

Jordi Alba –best defender  – and Víctor Valdés – best keeper  – were also nominated, but the awards went to Sergio Ramos and Thibaut Courtois.
