The Barça manager is pleased how his men played this evening against Thailand

Mourning for Rosario

After the match against Thailand, Martino expressed his sadness at the news of the explosion in Rosario. “I want to send my regards to all the people of Rosario, we’ve been up all night following the events. I send my condolences to the victims and their families.”

Tata Martino’s second game on the Barça bench ended with a comfortable victory for the Blaugrana. After the 7-1 win over Thailand, the manager said: “I insist on what I said the other day (after the match against Santos), we pressured well, we had the ball and we attacked quickly.” He added: “Independently of the opponent, we had the ambition to win the game. It’s clear that this team is hungry.”

Variables in order to not be predictable

“Having variables is the best way to not be predictable,” said the manager when asked about the tactical changes he’s introduced to the team’s play since his arrival to the Barça bench. Martino then went on to talk about his decision to name Messi and Neymar to the starting line-up: “I’ve always thought they would complement each other well. One of them on the wing and the other in the middle. They are comfortable, it’s noticeable.”
