. @cesc4official: “La Liga is a very important title"

The Catalan midfielder highlighted Barça’s excellent league campaign after this evening’s victory over Levante

Alexis declared that Barça is ready for to play against Bayern Munich and that the Blaugrana are eager to get a good result

Another night of football at the Camp Nou and another excellent showing from the Cesc-Alexis duo. The two players linked up to score the only goal of the match: Cesc fired the ball into the back of the net after an assist from Alexis. “It was a very important match. We had to win in order to be closer to winning to the title,” said the midfielder. Cesc went on to talk about the importance of the competition: “it seems as though there are people that want to detract value from winning the league, but it’s a very important title. We’ve worked very hard.”

When asked about next week’s important Champions League match against Bayern Munich, Cesc said that “today’s victory sets up well for the game on Tuesday.”

Alexis, Cesc’s comrade in arms

The FC Barcelona forward played a crucial role in his team’s victory this evening as he assisted Cesc for the match winner. The Chilean, who is going through one of his best spells of form this year, talked about his availability in the upcoming matches of the season: “if the manager needs me, I’ll be 100% ready. I’m improving on a daily basis and I’m fitting in with the team.”

When asked about his assist to Cesc in tonight’s match, he said, “we have a good connection. We’re both on form.” With the league title almost won and the semi-final of the Champions League right around the corner, the forward went on to say that “we have to take this one game at a time. All of the teams we play against are difficult to beat. With that said, on the game on Tuesday, we’re ready for Bayern and we hope to get a good result.”

When asked about this future, Alexis declared that his contract runs through 2016 and his objective, at least this year, “is to win La Liga and the Champions League.”
