Different members of PSG have given their responses to being drawn against Barça in the Champions League. Ancelloti is pleased, but Leonardo admits that “this was the hardest draw we could have had”

FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain will be going head to head in the Champions League quarter finals. For the side from the French capital, this will be their first appearance in the last eight since 1994/1995, after beating Valencia in the previous round, while Barça got the better of AC Milan. The game brings together the leaders of La Liga and Ligue 1.

“We’re very happy”

A double winner of this competition as manager of AC Milan AC, Carlo Ancelotti sounded mightily pleased to have been drawn against the rival everyone feared. “We know it will be very difficult, and we will have to give the best of ourselves and play with high intensity throughout” he said. “It will be very different to the friendly we played in August [which Barça won on penalties]. Barça are the favourites in this competition”.

PSG director of sport, Leonardo, confessed that the draw “is the most difficult we could have got … They are the best team in it. And we’re playing the return leg at their ground, which makes it harder, but it’s something we will enjoy.” Indeed, despite the difficulty, the Brazilian is still expecting “a great footballing festival”.

Maxwell compares PSG to Barça

The Brazilian left back Maxwell has played for both clubs. He said that “Paris Saint-Germain is a club in construction, while Barça has already been built. Changes are happening at all levels, and PSG can only grow from here”.

Mamadou Sakho is thrilled at the prospect of meeting the Catalan giants. The French international defender immediately expressed his delight at PSG playing Barça in a digital meeting with his fans.
