UEFA’s Disciplinary Committee reduced the two-match ban on the PSG forward to one match, which means he’ll be available for selection for the away leg of the Champions League quarter-final playoff against FC Barcelona
UEFA’s Disciplinary Committee announced this Tuesday that the two-match ban imposed on Zlatan Ibrahimovic is to be reduced by one game. The player, therefore, will be able to feature in both Champions League quarter-final matches against FC Barcelona.
The PSG forward was shown a direct red card in the final minute of the Round of 16 away leg against Valencia. UEFA handed down a two-match ban for Ibrahimovic, but PSG appealed the decision by successfully arguing that the ball was in play when the infraction was committed. The referee’s post-match report, however, indicates that the ball was not in play. Regardless, Ibravimovic will be at the Parc des Princes to host FC Barcelona in the away leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
