Barça visit Balaídos this evening looking for their 25th league win of the season, with the Champions League quarter final against PSG on the horizon.

Abidal is back in the squad for the game, with Deulofeu and Oier joining him, whilst Valdés, Puyol, Adriano, Pedro, Jordi Alba and Xavi are all out.

If Messi plays and scores, he will complete a whole half season scoring in every game.

After six years without playing in Vigo, Barça are again at Balaidos this evening. The last time the two met in Galicia, Pinto was in goal for Celta and today he’ll be in the same position for Barça. Abel Resino’s side are next to bottom in La Liga, but their boss has made it clear he reckons this is a good time to meet the league leaders, who have a raft of injured players and a Champions League quarter final ahead of them next week.

Great news

The big news at Barça ahead of the game was the call up of Eric Abidal for the game, 13 months after he last figured for the team. With Valdés suspended and Puyol, Adriano, Pedro, Jordi Alba and Xavi – who did train with the squad on Friday – all missing, Deulofeu and Oier have the chance to shine, while Jordo Roura will again be in charge, as Tito Vilanova, who led the squad’s last training session, won’t travel.

After the international break, Barça will be looking to maintain their big lead at the top of the table and chalk up win number 25 in the league ahead of the trip to Paris on Tuesday.

Messi, a goal off making history

Leo Messi has now scored in 18 games on the run and if he gets another against Celta that will make it a complete half season scoring. In the game against the Galicians at the Camp Nou, Barça won 3-1, but Messi failed to score in that match.

Celta in need of punts

Celta face the game in a difficult situation – sitting second from bottom- but with 19 of their 23 points taken so far this season won at home, they will be a threat, especially given their need for points if they are to avoid the drop. Resino will be without his star player Iago Aspas, who is suspended, as is Túñez, whilst Krohn-Dehli, Álex López, Sergio, Samuel and Hugo Mallo are injured.
