The president will travel to the North American city on Wednesday to visit with the team’s manager
“His health takes priority, it’s more important than tonight’s match or tomorrow’s titles,” he declared
Sandro Rosell confirmed that he will travel to New York City this Wednesday to visit with FC Barcelona manager, Tito Vilanova, who is currently undergoing treatment in the U.S. city. “His health is the most important thing. It’s takes priority, it’s more important than tonight’s match or tomorrow’s titles,” he declared. He added: “We miss him as a person and a professional.” Rosell also made clear that while Vilanova is in New York that “Roura will continue managing the first team because we have a lot of confidence in him.”
Congratulations to Madrid
The president also talked about Barça’s elimination from the Copa del Rey at the hands of Real Madrid: “It was a defeat that we weren’t expecting. We have to congratulate Madrid and we have to move on quickly and start thinking about the match on Saturday and the upcoming games, which are more important than the Cup.” Rosell also lamented Barça’s missed chances in the away leg: “It’s a shame that Pedro didn’t get the 2-0 in Madrid, but these things happen. It’s football.”
All the credit in the world
For Rosell, it’s time to reflect and think back on all the successes that team has brought to the Club. “This team deserves to be believed in. They’ve been together for four and a half years and in football it’s impossible to win everything. I know it’s difficult, but we can’t forget what they’ve done,” he said. Rosell then went on to praise the fans, who never stopped cheering the team on: “Our fans have matured tremendously over the years and they know that we can’t always win.”
