Although they’ve only managed four wins in the Camp Nou, Osasuna have often proved a tough nut to crack in recent seasons

It’s almost a year and half since FC Barcelona and Osasuna lined up against each other in the Camp Nou. In the 2011/12 league campaign, Pep Guardiola’s side inflicted a crushing 8-0 defeat on the Pamplona based outfit, including a Leo Messi hat trick, two goals from Villa, and one each from Cesc, Xavi and Roversio (o.g.). It was the second biggest win ever in the Camp Nou, only superseded by a 9-0 drubbing of Rayo in the 1978/79 season.

But apart from last season’s demolition job, Osasuna have put up a spirited fight here over the past few years. In the 2010/11 campaign, it took a Leo Messi goal in the 88th minute to seal a 2-0 win while the year previously the Camp Nou faithful were kept on the edge of their seats until the final quarter of an hour before Ibra and Bojan put an end to the visitors’ resistance.

Four years since Osasuna’s last win

Osasuna have only won four league matches in the Camp Nou, the last time coming four years ago in the 2008/09 season, Guardiola first season in charge of the first team. Barça lost 0-1 thanks to goal from Uruguay international Pandiani, but the match was a mere formality as Barça had already won both the Cup and the league.

More than two goals per match

Against Osasuna at home, Barça have won 26, drawn 4 and lost 4, scoring 92 goals (2.7 goals per match) and conceding only 16.
