Messi’s Ballon D’Or award featured on the news programme Xin Wen Lian Bo, one of the world’s most viewed programmes

Messi’s Ballon D’Or award featured in the international section of the Chinese news programme Xin Wen Lian Bo last Wednesday, January 9th.

Xin Wen Lian Bo is a daily news programme produced by CCTV (Chinese Central Television) since 1978. It is broadcast every evening at 19.00 by the majority of Chinese TV broadcasters. The programme is viewed by a large part of the Chinese population and one of the most seen news programmes in the world.

The programme broadcasts half an hour of news related to government meetings, commentaries and international news. This last part lasts for between 1 and 2 minutes and is the source of international news for a large part of the Chinese population. The Barça player featured in the main news item of the evening, with the news of his Ballon D’Or award leading with the headline: “with 92 goals scored in 2012, Messi has won his fourth Ballon D’Or – something never before achieved”.

Messi’s award was also a hot topic on the Chinese social network Tencent Weibo, which has 15.723.365 users, where more than 120,000 personas gave Messi their support via the hashtag #金球奖# (significa:balondeoro) el link es http://k.t.qq.com/k/%25E9%2587%2591%25E7%2590%2583%25E5%25A5%2596. A total of 183.528 unique users visited the official FC Barcelona website in Chinese (www.fcbarcelona.cn) on the day of the award to find out about Barça’s Ballon D’Or nominees.
