Barça close out the first half of the season undefeated and with a record amount of points thanks a brilliant performance at La Rosaleda
Tito Vilanova’s men finished the first half of the La Liga with a record 55 out of 57 points – beating out the record set in the 2010/11 season. Tito’s return to the bench was yet another incentive for the Blaugrana in their match against Málaga this evening. After tonight’s victory, Vilanova’s team wrote another page in the Club’s history books. Barça are devastating going forward, but their defensive pressure is at the core of Tito’s system.
Match after match, Andrés Iniesta shows just how good he is. He’s put in consistently high level performances this season as one of Barça’s midfield organisers. Barça’s midfield in was a windmill against Málaga, with Xavi, Cesc and Busquets pulling the strings for a devastating Messi and Iniesta in Caballero’s area.
Sergio Busquets continues to be a rock in midfield. Wedged between Piqué and Mascherano, he commands Barça’s play from behind. Against Málaga Sergio proved how enormously valuable he is in Barça’s style of play.
