Whenever Messi has got a goal in the domestic championship, he has scored at least one more

In none of the 11 games played to date has he scored just once

He tops the Liga goalscoring charts with 15, eleven of them away from home

He’s beaten Pelé’s record and is still scoring more. This season, Leo Messi has continued with his amazing ability to score two or more goals a game, and in La Liga he has scored twice on six occasions, plus one hat trick. In total, his 15 goals once again put him at the top of the Liga goalscoring list.

4 at home, 11 away

Just two of these braces have been scored at the Camp Nou. Those were against Real Sociedad (5-1) and Real Madrid (2-2). All of his other 11 goals have been scored outside Barcelona, (two against all of Osasuna, Getafe, Rayo and Mallorca, plus a hat-trick at Riazor (4-5).

With 15 already, he is just 7 shy of his best ever tally for the first half of a season. Last season he reached the midway point with 22 goals, and he still has eight games left in which to improve on that this time round.

Five more in Supercup and Champions League

He has scored a further five goals in the Spanish Supercup and the Champions League. But in those competitions he has not been scoring them in twos and threes. He scored once in each leg of the Supercup against Madrid, and in the Champions League he got two against Spartak Moscow at the Camp Nou and another one at Celtic Park.
