Following on from last night’s win in Vallecas, the players trained at midday on Sunday with their thoughts focussed on the upcoming match against Alavés in the Cup
There’s no time to relax. Just a few hours after the five-goal thrashing of Rayo Vallecano, the players reported for training on Sunday morning to begin preparations for their Kings Cup round of 32 first-leg match on Tuesday in Mendizorroza.
The players who took part in the win against Rayo concentrated on recovery work while the rest of the squad, including Mascherano, exercised as usual with the ball that will be used in the Cup match. Tello, Masip, Araujo, Quintillà, Espinosa and Miguel Angel, from Barça B, joined the senior players for the session. Meanwhile, the injured players continued with their specific programmes.
The players will report again for training on Monday morning. After the session, Tito Vilanova will reveal his 16-man squad and give a press conference. The match against Alavés will kick off at 10 pm.
