Barça have made amends for going behind in no fewer than of 5 the 11 official matches played so far this season
The Supercup return leg at the Bernabéu was the only game in which they failed to make a comeback
Five Matches
Barça 2012/13 do it the hard way. They are top of La Liga and their Champions League group, despite being at least one goal down in no fewer than 6 of the 11 games played to date. Despite those six early setbacks, they only ended up losing one of those games, and went on to win four of them.
From 2-0 to 2-3, 15 years later
The most spectacular comeback was the one at Sevilla. Early in the second half, the Catalans were trailing 2-0, but two goals from Cesc and another right at the end from Villa took all three points. It was fifteen years since Barça had made up for a two-goal deficit by winning a league fixture. The trip to Osasuna also saw the home side hit the target first, but by the end of that game, it was the Barça players who were celebrating following a 2-1 win.
Real Madrid also opened the scoring against Barça last weekend, but a brace from Leo Messi turned things around. Unfortunately, on that occasion, Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed his second goal of the night and things ended all square.
In Europe too
In the first Champions League match, at home to Spartak Moscow, Barça were stunned when the Russians worked their way into a 2-1 lead. Then Messi brought some relief to the Camp Nou with an equaliser, and it was the Argentinian again who also supplied the winner late in the second half.
Twice in the Supercup
Barça’s ability to cope with adversity was put to the rest right from the start. In the Supercup, they were trailing in both legs. At the Camp Nou, they responded to Madrid’s early opener with three goals, although the visitors pulled one goal back to make it 3-2. In the gripping second leg, Madrid stormed into a 2-0 lead, but a Messi double soon had things back level on the night, although it wasn’t quite enough to secure the title.
