The team will play away to Getafe and Sevilla in the Liga and Benfica in the Champions League before the nest international break. Barça will host Granada, Madrid and Spartak Moscow
The next international break is scheduled for October 12, in that time Barça will play six matches, four in the Liga and two in the Champions League
The last match before the break will be against Real Madrid, the first Clásico of the 2012/13 Liga
Tito Vilanova and his men have a pretty intense schedule before the next international break, which starts on October 7. The Azulgrans will play a total of six games, four in the Liga and two in the Champions League.
Difficult opponents in the Liga
None of Barça’s upcoming matches in the domestic competition will be easy. Starting on Saturday, September 15, the Azulgranas will face Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez. Last season, the Madrid-based team edged the Azulgranas and they beat Real Madrid this season.
Barça’s next opponent will be Granada, a team that have managed to secure one point so far this season. It goes without saying that Granada will fight tooth and nail at the Camp Nou in an attempt to at least double their current point haul. The match will be played on September 23.
After Granada, Barça will travel to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán to face Sevilla FC. Seville has always been a difficult place for the Azulgranas to secure points, and it’s expected that the game on September 30 will be no exception.
The final match before the international break will be at the Camp Nou, on October 7. Barça will host Real Madrid for the first Clásico of the 2012/13 Liga season.
The Champions League begins
In between the Liga matches, Barça will kick off its bid to reclaim the Champions League title. The first group-stage match will be against Unai Emery’s Spartak Moscow, on September 19 at the Camp Nou. It will be Tito Vilanova’s first Champions League match as FC Barcelona’s head manager.
Barça will then visit Benfica’s Da Luz Stadium, on October 2. The Champions League match will be played five days before the Clásico at the Camp Nou. It’s worth noting that the two Champions League matches will be played at 20.45.
