The Frenchman, who underwent a liver transplant five months ago, turns 33 this Tuesday
Éric Abidal, who has been with the Club for five seasons, turns 33 this Tuesday. The Frenchman, who is currently recovering from a liver transplant, has been out of action since March 15.
Abidal sets sights on returning to competitive play
Abidal hasn’t forgotten Tito Vilanova’s words during the Joan Gamper Trophy: “If you feel strong and if you’re willing, we will wait as long as we have to [for your return]. Your struggle is our source of strength.” Abidal, who was part of the first team’s introduction to the Camp Nou faithful, said that his intention was to “return” to competitive play as soon as possible. “I started workout out in the gym and I feel good. I’m following my recovery plan and hopefully I can come back [to football] in December,” he said in Paris, where Barça drew 2-2 with PSG. Everything is possible with Éric. Happy birthday!
