The two players trained this afternoon with the team at the Camp Nou in what was FC Barcelona’s last session before hosting Valencia (21.30)
FC Barcelona’s first team trained behind closed doors this morning ahead of tonight’s match against Valencia (21.30). Dani Alves and Carles Puyol trained along side 21 of their team-mates this morning. Both players missed Wednesday’s Spanish Super Cup return leg against Real Madrid. The Brazilian was ruled out of the match at the last minute due to what appeared to be a muscle injury in his right leg, whilst Puyol watched the match from the sidelines due to the fractured cheekbone injury he sustained against Osasuna.
For tonight’s match, the manager Tito Vilanova will also be able to call upon Thiago Alcántara, who was given the medical all-clear this week. Tello, Barça B player, is among the 23 players named to the first team squad against Valencia. The team will return to the stadium at 19.45.
