Adriano out against Sevilla

Despite working hard all week to recover in time from a pulled muscle against Granada, the Brazilian international will not be included in the team that faces Sevilla on Saturday

Tito Vilanova has named 18 players in the squad that travels to the Sánchez Pizjuán, including Sergio Busquets, who has got over the back trouble he was suffering midweek

The team trained early this evening. Iniesta managed to complete the full session, while Puyol joined in for a part of it

The squad

Valdés, Pinto, Alves, Cesc, Xavi, Villa, Alexis, Messi, Thiago, Mascherano, Bartra, Sergio Busquets, Pedro, Jordi Alba, Montoya, Song, Tello and Sergi Roberto.

Adriano Correia has been left out of the team that travels to Sevilla for Saturday’s game at 22.00. The Brazilian pulled a muscle last weekend against Granada and despite working hard to get fit in time, he is being left behind in Barcelona as a precautionary measure.

That means Adriano is sidelined along with Iniesta, Piqué, Puyol, Cuenca, Muniesa and Abidal, while Andreu Fontàs and Jonathan dos Santos have missed the cut in Tito Vilanova’s choice of 18 players for the trip to the Sánchez Pizjuán. But Sergio Busquets gets the nod after recovering in time from problems in the lumbar region earlier this week.

Iniesta back in action

The training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Andrés included Iniesta, while Carles Puyol was also able to participate in some exercises. Barça B’s Cristian Tello and Sergi Roberto were also present, and have been included in the party that flies to Andalusia.

The squad will assemble at the Camp Nou at 10.15, from where they will be transferred to Barcelona Airport to board a flight to Seville scheduled for departure at 11.00 and arrival at 12.30.
