?Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has stressed the need for ‘the best technology’ to be introduced to La Liga after Sunday night’s 1-1 draw with title rivals Valencia.

The Blaugrana were denied a clear goal when Lionel Messi’s effort was spilled by goalkeeper Neto and crossed the line.

Despite the vehement protestations of Barcelona’s players, the officials ruled that the ball had not entirely gone in.

“There will be a lot of things that VAR can’t clear up, but I hope that they can help with things likes today,” Busquets said, quoted by ?Sport.

“It’s an evolution which we need. It’s something we need. And not just for this goal. La Liga has the best players in the world. It’s the best league in the world and it deserves the best technology. The goal was over the line, but neither the referee nor the assistant saw it.”

Valencia took the lead following the controversy when Rodrigo converted from close range early in the second-half.

But Barcelona levelled through Jordi Alba, who met a superbly weighted pass from Messi to volley home.

The draw left Ernesto Valverde’s side still with a four-point lead over Valencia in La Liga, although Busquets bemoaned the end of their impressive winning run.
