Marc Bartra still thinks FC Barcelona can win the league. “The win means we still have hope”, he told ‘El Marcador’ on Barça TV after the 2-1 win against Bilbao. “I am happy and proud of my colleagues. From where we were, it wasn’t easy to turn that game around.”

On the reaction to going a goal down to the Basques, the defender said “I am always very positive. Although Aduriz scored I always thought we could come back. We’re Barça. We went all out and fought with all the desire we still have of winning the league.”

Until Pedro scored, a host of chances had been squandered. “It was as if the ball didn’t want to go in”, he said, but was ultimately pleased that his team is still in contention for the last few games of the campaign.

Marc Bartra also spoke about Gareth Bale’s winner in the Spanish Cup Final. “Looking back, I should have gone in harder against him. But then my hamstring went” he said.

On a personal level, he feels he has made good progress this season. “With all the advice from the coach, my team-mates, and from Puyol, I have learned a lot. I am very grateful for all that has happened and I hope I can stay here for many more years.”
