Pinto on taking over from Víctor Valdés for the two months “I’m very excited”

“Would I like to extend my contract? Of course I would. I’m very happy here”.

José Manuel Pinto  has an important role to play in the team over the next couple of months with Victor Valdes out injured for at least six weeks. Pinto is keen to accept the challenge and told Barça TV programme “El Mirador”: “I am really excited about it . I’m not looking at it as a chance to prove something – it’s something to enjoy”.

Pinto’s contract finishes in June 2014 and he’s clear that he’d like to extend his stay at the Club:“Would I like to extend my contract? Of course I would. I’m very happy here. I feel part of a family”.[[CITA_1]]

Turning to the win over Granada, Pinto explained: “I’m happy with a win and with the grain of sand I brought to the win. I know it’ll be tough to take over from Valdes, but I think I did okay. I dealt aright with the few things I had to do -playing gives you confidence”.

Finally, Pinto talked about the team’s style of play: “we are keeping to the same philosophy. Maybe we have added a couple of things, but that is because every coach sees the game in a different way. We try to play well and get the points three by three. I’m not interested in the debate some people are trying to have – just let the numbres talk for themselves”.
